Why instaecard exists, who's behind it, and how we work.
Why this exists
More than once I've realised, too late, that I'd forgotten the birthday of someone dear to me, and there was no quick way to get a card to them. At the office it was the same every time someone left: me, chasing people around to sign the card.
I kept thinking there had to be a way to do this instantly. A few sites already did something similar, but each came with fees, rules and steps that made something simple feel complicated. Showing the most important people in your life that they matter shouldn't be hard. So I built instaecard to fix my own problem, and so that anyone can spread a little joy calmly, even at the last minute.
Who's behind it
I didn't have the money to hire professionals. What I did have were amazing people I've worked with: friends and colleagues who have done these jobs for a living for years, and do them very well. We agreed instaecard would be our hobby, something we make for ourselves and for the community.
What we hope you feel
Joy, first. And the reminder that however hard life gets, someone cares about you and thinks about you. A card makes it easier to open up a little. That's how we stay close and keep a sense of community, at a time when it's easy to drift apart.
How we work
- Personal. Real people answer every message, within one working day.
- Private. Your privacy is a given, not a feature. No ads, no tracking. Cards are deleted on time, as set out in our Privacy notice.
- Honest. No hidden costs. Free while we're in beta: starting, signing and delivering a card costs nothing.
Be part of it
instaecard is made by its community, for its community. We work the way we'd want anyone to: not bound to nine to five, with culture and mental health first. Go to the gym, a yoga or Pilates class, the doctor, or pick the kids up from school, and still give a few hours a day to keep instaecard running and bring more people in.
